Almost home? Or almost homeless?

It's been said that our recent home-buying fiasco would make for great TV, and I can't deny it.  Our sellers have taken us on one bizarre ride as they:

(1) decided mid-contract that they're selling the property as-is,
(2) denied us our contract-guaranteed pre-settlement walk-through,
(3) refused to close on closing day because they were "tired of signing paperwork,"
(4) left us hanging for a week without any indication (official or otherwise) of whether they would or would not be willing to close in the near future,
(5) re-advertised the house and began considering other offers,
(6) came back to us to re-initiate closing proceedings after we issued them a termination agreement and after they received another offer that they considered too low to be worthwhile.

Needless to say, after this journey through hell, we've declined their latest offer to continue with the purchase.  All I can say is "good riddance".  What a nightmare.

Anyway, we're now back on the market for a new home.  And time, as usual, is a-tickin'.  Not only do we have our baby on the way, but last week we also learned that the new landlords who took over our building earlier this month are kicking everyone out at the end of summer so that they can begin major renovations! (Geez, when it rains it pours, doesn't it?)

Fortunately, our latest weekend of home-viewing produced some promising results, and we're hopeful that we'll have a new place secured soon.  Please keep sending good wishes in the meantime.  We know we've been asking for a lot of them, but apparently we haven't quite met the quota yet!
